Ms. Newell began her tenure with Cohen & Sinowski in June of 2020. After a brief period, she rose to the level of Associate Attorney and has been a key figure in the expansion of the firm. Ms. Newell is heavily involved in the firm’s litigation practice and is responsible for advancing cases from filing to settlement and trial.
Specifically, Ms. Newell is responsible for preparing and defending client depositions, taking defendant depositions, coordinating discovery, filing, and responding to motions, reviewing case files, preparing clients for trial, assisting the Partners and ultimately trying cases.
Ms. Newell graduated in the top 25% of Atlanta’s John Marshall Law School class of 2019 where she received her Juris Doctorate. Thereafter, she took the Georgia Bar Examination and ultimately received her license to practice law in the fall of 2019.
Ms. Newell began her legal career working with the Georgia Senate Research team in the State Capital where she attended Committee meetings, drafted bill summaries for Senators to review, and provided legal research on gambling, sports betting, and hemp farming. While with the Senate Research team, Ms. Newell was given the opportunity to attend the Natural Resources and the Environment, Agriculture and Consumer Affairs, Urban Affairs, and State Institutions and Property Committees. During these meetings, Ms. Newell would provide committee rules to Senators and draft meeting minutes for publishing on the Senate website.
Ms. Newell is admitted to practice law in the State of Georgia and Northern District Court of Georgia.
In her spare time Ms. Newell enjoys spending time outdoors fishing on her family’s cattle farm. Ms. Newell can often be found helping her father feed cattle, sow fields, or patch fences. An animal lover, Ms. Newell has had many pets over the years but currently has a German Shepherd, Thorne, and a cat, Kelso. When away from the practice of law, she enjoys spending time at the beach fishing and dining out on fresh seafood.
